Michael Jackson--Controversy, controversy, controversy, and his untimely death are things that make him a target for people to shoot at and thus cause me to explode at them. I love MJ, but what I get tired of is the arguing I go through trying to change people's thoughts about him when people send biting words flying at me.
The Beatles--What can I say? I adore them. I'm not deifying them or anything but honestly if I'd never discovered their music I might not be the person I am today. I would be a lot different and very difficult to live around. I would do anything in my ability to defend them in any circumstances. I'm sure a few of you have probably experienced how I get. My words can bite just as hard as anyone else's, but in the end if the other person goes far enough, I end up in tears or close to it because I don't want to stop defending, because then they get the impression that they "won". And, to quote Death Note, I am somewhat "childish and hate to lose." Long story short, I will stop at nothing to defend my favorite band and the members. I admit they've made a lot of bad choices, but you needn't dwell on them. Look at all the great things they've done, and that completely overpowers the bad things!
Elton John--Because he's gay, people feel the need to end poison darts at me about him being "anti-religion" or whatever. People are stupid. I tell them, "That's your opinion," or "Sorry you feel that way." But noooo, they keep on going. I've finally learned to ignore these obviously mentally stunted homophobes. If they can't see past his sexual preferences and into the unmistakable GENIUS that lies within his music and his personality, then that's THEIR problem, not mine.
My Chemical Romance--Yes, I DID have that little emo stage for a while and would bite people's heads off for saying things I didn't like about MCR. Now I have realized they were right all along and I had no reason to be so angry. Moving on.
Donny Osmond--This is a new one but I'm adding him because I don't doubt at all that I'll soon be defending him as well. People pick on his smile a lot. I'll probably get into some sort of fist fight over THAT one. No, I'm kidding. But knowing me, and knowing how people LOOOOVE to see me get all hyped up and angry, I'll get into a little, uh, "debate" like some of the previous over something about him. I don't see what, but I'm sure SOMEONE will find SOMETHING about him to bash on within hearing distance of me.
I think that's about all.
I have learned that no matter what, you just can't change anyone's thoughts. They'll keep going and going on a thought just to hurt your feelings and see how far you'll go before throwing a punch or breaking down in tears.
Nw I just need to learn how to put those words to action and quit launching an attack every time someone makes a distasteful crack at one of the people mentioned above. I'm trying my best to put a hold on my temper and it's working a little bit at a time.
For now, listening to "You Can't Win" from The Wiz helps a LOT. Read the lyrics.
YOU CAN'T WIN
You can't win
You can't break even
And you can't get out of the game
People keep sayin'
Things are gonna change
But they look just like
They're stayin' the same
You get in
way over your head
And you only got yourself to blame
You can't win Child
(You can't win Child)
You can't break even
And you can't get out of the game
You can't win
The world keeps movin'
And you're standin' far behind
People keep sayin'
Things'll get better
(Just to ease your state of mind)
(So you lay back, and you smoke that smoke)
(And you drink your glass of wine)
So you can't win, Child
You can't break even
And you can't get out of the game
You can't win, you can't win no way
If your story stays the same
(You ain't winnin' ),
No, no,
(But it's nice to see you)
(I'm awfully glad you came)
(Better cool it 'cause
It ain't about losin' )
And the world has got no shame
You can't win, Child
You can't break even
You can't get out of the game
You can't win
You can't break even
Ain't the way it's supposed to be
(You'll be spendin' ),
No, no
(Your little bit of money)
While someone else rides for free
(Learn your lesson), ooh,
(Refuel your mind)
(Before some turkey blows out your flame)
You can't win, Child. No!
You can't win
You can't win, Child. No!
You can't win
You can't win, Child. No!
You can't win
You can't win, Child. No!
You can't win
You can't win, Child
You can't break even
And you can't get out of the game
You can't get out of the game
You can't get out (wooh!) of the game
No, no...

Tell me where your freedom lies,
The streets are fields that never die,
Deliver me from reasons why,
You'd rather cry, I'd rather fly.
